Happy Fall!

We have been reading about families and how they work together.  The students created a poster of what job they want to be when they grow up. They were very creative.  The students have done a great job with applying their reading and writing skills to their work.

In Fundations, we worked on glued sounds and glued sounds exceptions.  Ask your child what makes certain words have glued sound exceptions.  The children are doing a great job applying their skills to their work!

We worked in our special memory book that we will be adding to throughout the school year.  This special book will come home at the end of the school year.

We have been learning many addition strategies and applying them to our work.  We worked with the doubles facts and doubles plus one.  Did you hear the "Doubles Rap"?  We also learned about turn around facts and knowing the addends to equal 10.   Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts at home for at least 10 minutes a day.

We had a great time being kind during "Start with Hello" week. The children were really kind to each other.  The children are doing a great job using their mindful listening and breathing to stay focused.
