Stay warm!

We discussed Martin Luther King, Jr. life and put his important life events in chronological order. We learned about his life and how he was a peaceful and kind man.

We have been working with the various spellings of the "r controlled vowels".  Please review with your child the words that have "ar", "or", "ir", "er", and "ur".   Thank you for working with your child on their spelling skills.

We have been working with number story problems and using diagrams to organize the problems.  We have been working with coins and making change.  The students are doing a great job using different coins to the show the same amount of money.  We are also working on addition and subtraction strategies.   Please keep practicing math addition and subtraction facts.

We learned about forces and motions through literature and hands on activities.  We enjoyed the stories I Fall Down, Magnets Work, and Forces and Motion.  The students  enjoyed exploring magnets at the different hands on stations.  We learned that magnets are fun and interesting!  We enjoyed reading about the night sky through the stories Starry Night and Mr. Putter and  Tabby See the Stars.

We enjoyed the COSI assembly sponsored by the PTA.  It was fun to do the hands on stations and learn more about the solar system.
