Happy March!

Yeah! It is finally March and soon the first day of Spring will be here!  We are all ready for warmer weather!  When the weather is nice, we will be going outside so please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. The playground can be muddy so boots would be highly suggested.

We have been working with the  "oi", "oy" "oa", "oe", and "ow" sounds as double vowel teams.  The students are doing well with applying the rules to their spelling.

We had fun celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday by learning about his life and doing fun activities to remember Dr. Seuss. We read a Dr. Seuss book and took an AR quiz.  What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?

We have been working with strategies to add double and triple digit numbers with carrying a group of 10.  The students have done great with partial sums, base ten blocks, open number line, and checking their answers with ballpark estimates.

The children worked hard researching about the presidents and writing the research reports. The children shared their reports with the class.  The children are so proud of their work.  I was very impressed how serious they were doing their research and looking information up on the computers and in books. I learned a few new facts about the presidents.  I hope you did, too.

We enjoyed the O.S.O.B.- Gooseberry Park.  It hope you enjoyed the book at home with your child.   We wrote about our favorite character from the story.   Thank you for your support at home!
